Usually in the big games, no matter what sport, we expect the perceived superior team to win it and win it big. We hear time and time again why one team is far better than the other, why one team is the supposed better team and why one team no matter what happens will win it all.
Well, in one of the most historic of all sporting stages the Giants proved why it doesn’t matter what we think. It matters what happens on the field. Sports in all its glory is about what happens when the clock is running and what happens between the lines. It isn’t about what all the pundits say, it isn’t about what people think will happen, its about what happens when the players take the field and the games are played.
I know in this day in age of 24 hour media we will continue to see this, the media dubbing winners before they are rightfully winners, the so called experts calling wins before they are won. But this is why sports are sports. We get the opportunity to see events unravel before our eyes, things that aren’t “supposed” to happen but do. That’s the beauty of sports, expect the expected, but only when it is unexpected.
