College Basketball, Gotta Love It

The Paint Crew

I just got done watching the Purdue vs. Michigan State basketball game and again realized why I love college basketball. Never mind March and the greatness that is the NCAA Tournament, but regular season college basketball is way more exciting than the NBA.

In no NBA game will you ever hear of fans getting to the arena five days early, camping out waiting to get first come first serve seats. In no NBA city will you hear of coaches bringing chicken wings and and pizza in the middle of the night to fans. And it just doesn’t happen at one school, it happens all over the country. Duke has the Cameron Crazies, Michigan State has the Izzone, Purdue the Paint Crew, I am not sure if Maryland’s section is called anything but they have some of the most intense fans in the nation.

College basketball is probably one of the last few pure games, sure there is huge money and TV contracts but as a sport, it is one the last great games played by some of the most passionate kids.

Sorry NBA, I haven’t watched a game in at least two years and I probably won’t start.

If you have not yet been to a game at Hinkle - get there this year. The Bracket Buster game against Drake will be one of the best college B-ball experiences you’ll ever have.
