  • Walks at Night:

The Hampton Inn at Broadway at the Beach is nice and very convenient to Broadway – you can just walk over to the action:

If you want something waterfront then Camelot is nice:

  • Charlie:

    World Tour
    Grande Dunes

Those 2 are the best courses in Myrtle Beach

If you want to spend the money. Barefoot is extremely excellent course.

Stay at Grande Dunes. Best hotel in the area

I make 1-2 trips to MB a year (once in the spring and most years I play the WorldAm the week of Labour Day) via auto from Toronto.

April is typically high season as far as golf so expect courses to be priced accordingly.

    Courses:

-Everyone and their mother has their own favourites. The two “musts” would be Right Blue (my favourite) and Dunes Club (MB National, TPC, Legends Resort, and Pawleys Plantation are also on most folks’ top tier).
-If you go through any wholesaler/travel companies, find out what courses they place you on.
-Here are numerous MB Golf blogs and websites that review and rate courses. Take reviews for what they are.
-Just assume that a majority of the other golfers will be unfamiliar with the courses. By that, you can safely assume you won’t be getting around in 3 1/2 hours.

    Lodging:

-Traffic can be brutal at times…consider this when alternative a place to stay and courses. Some of the courses on the Grand Strand are really in North Carolina…give yourself plenty of time to get up and back.
-If it’s four of you, I’d urge you consider a condo leasing. You’ll have a lot more space, plus the added regard of a furnished kitchen, etc. Here are numerous condo leasing outfits that can help (I have a contact who I barter with for my April trip). Plus you’ve got space should a poker game break out.
-Here are plenty of chain hotels (your Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn, etc.) in the area, but consider location relative to where you want to play. Anything on the beach in the main downtown area- give yourself more time to get to the courses.
-Barefoot Landing has a ton of lodging opportunity, several courses close by, and a couple bars if you’re in the mood for life social (not an endorsement, but it is honestly convenient).

    Travel:

-Flights in to MB can be pricey (especially if you’re paying baggage fees for clubs), and the car leasing folks will upcharge for SUV’s and minivans. Just factor that in.

Here are several “dens of iniquity” in the area if ballet theatre avec the pole is your thing.

Either way, it’s a fantastic time and plenty of the courses are more than enough challenge, even for + handicappers.
